After being a computer engineer for over 30 years, as well as a professional golfer, a motorcycle racer, a dog handler and breeder, a fisherman and an entrepreneur, I finally returned to my passion of photography in 2007.

I made my first photograph at the age of 5 with a Brownie Boy Scout box camera loaned to me by my grandfather, after that I was hooked on the magic of photography. In 2010 I earned my diploma from the The New York Institute of Photography, and additionally received an Award of Merit. It is here I discovered not only do I have a talent for Portraiture and Glamor  but that I have a reignited  my passion for wildlife and landscape photography.

I was born in Port Elizabeth, South Africa, and with my wife and children, emigrated to the United States in the mid 1980?s when gas in the USA was 65c a gallon. In 1996, we took the Oath of Allegiance and became United States citizens, and I am proud to say both my children serve in the United States Military.

It has been said that behind every good man is an even better woman, my wife of 31 years is that person. She has selflessly supported me through all of my endeavors, and without her support I could not have achieved what I have done.

My photography was born through my passion for wildlife and nature and if I wasn’t a photographer I would be a wildlife conservationist.

But… enough about me, let’s discuss “Images in Africa”  …

Well we were founded in 2010 as we could not find a Wildlife Safari and Photography workshop that catered not only to the photographer but their family as well.  We as ex South Africans want to go on Safari and do photography and bring our spouses along as well, and what we found was that there were Safaris and then there were safaris, none of which catered to both the photographer as well as the photographers family, plus the safaris that catered to both partners were not schooled in photography and more often than not crammed people into a 15 to 20 person game drive vehicle with no thought for were the light is, we it needs to be, what feeding schedule the animals follow and so on. Essentially they were a waster of time, and the few good ones that we found were priced so high that the average person could not afford to take their family to Africa and enjoy the beauty and wildlife of the country. and so with that as a model “Images in Africa” was born, and still today our prices are far below our competitors, plus we provide as an added benefit and included at no additional cost, 3 days of photography workshops as well as hands on training and guidance while in the field.

Though our business model caters to families and partners that want to enjoy a Safari and workshop combination we found that there is a need for true Photographers only Wildlife Safaris, and Photography workshops. With this in mind starting in 2013 we will be conducting 2 or 3 three (3) person Wildlife Safaris and Photography workshops.

These workshop safaris are specifically sized to allow each photographer to have the entire row of seats in the game drive vehicle for themselves and their equipment. This also allows shooting from both sides of the game drive vehicle without any interference from other parties.

As for our locations, we will not arrange, co-ordinate or take anyone on a Photo Safari to a location that we have not personally seen and photographed, something few that are in this market can claim.
